Who's got the button?

Who's got the button?

This week I did something which has been on my do to list since last October or so. I've been wanting to experiment with bezel setting antique mother of pearl buttons, so it was time to get to it!

When I actually got out my buttons and picked out the ones I wanted to use for jewelry, I realized I wouldn't be able to do a regular bezel since the sides of the buttons are straight up and down, not domed, but hey, tabs do the job nicely!

So I made a pair of earrings and two pendants, all roller printed with antique lace and with tab set mother of pearl buttons. If you're a button collector or antique textiles aficionado, these are for you!

Pics link to the items in the shop (which all contain much more iridescent buttons than the photos show, by the way. I do not possess the necessary skills to photograph iridescent things well), or check out the whole shebang here!
